Long and Lean....

So, this week Princess Presley had her 4 month check up! She is now 12 pounds 13 ounces and is 26 inches tall! She's in the 50th percentile for weight and in the 95th percentile for height!

I heart my parents!

Last night we took my daddy to dinner at this awesome place on the water called The Dock! It was a late birthday celebration and we had a great time!

My week...

What a great week I had...lots of playtime! My mommy even built me a new toy, but as you can see I am still a little too small for it! I am so happy it's the weekend! I have big plans this weekend...Mommy and I are taking Daddy out to dinner for his birthday, can't wait!!

Then and now...

Yesterday I came across the outfit we brought Presley home in...wow, it was huge on her then! Now it's sort of tight and too short...so short it almost has a plunging neckline...such a nice look on a baby! Can't believe how fast she is growing!!

Check out my new boots!

I got some new boots...just in time for fall! After debating on the color with my aunt Jenn in NY, we finally decided on gold because it would go with more of my stuff!

AZ visit cont...

The next morning we met up with Aunt Ang and walked to breakfast at LaGrande. We had some exciting news to ask Ang and could hardly wait to ask her to be Presley's Godmother! Adam asked Jeff that same night to be Presley's Godfather...so happy they said "yes!"

We then headed over to meet Presley's new best friend and fellow princess, Lila. Presley also got to meet her aunt's Veronica, Jenn and Jeanne! She is so excited for Baby Princess Menta to arrive in March! Presley was sad she didn't get to see her Aunt T and princesses Ava and Mia :(

Such a fun weekend!

Off to Phoenix we go!

Two weekends ago Presley took her first flight to AZ! We went in town for Lindsay's wedding and got to see family and friends! We kissed Daddy goodbye and off to AZ we went! Grandma Debby and Grandma Sue greeted us at the airport and we went to dinner at the Pizzeria...yum! We went over to visit with Grandpa Joe for a while the next morning...

Our pretty, pretty princess is 4 months old today!!

Four months ago today our little angel was born! I can't believe what a peanut she was then! So tiny and fragile! She is now grabbing and putting EVERYTHING in her mouth (including her feet- so talented!), smiling, laughing and rolling over! Time flies when you have a baby princess!

Things I heart...

While I am on a roll I thought I should write down a few things I love...

1. Anything Noodle and Boo! Obsessed with their wipes, shampoo and body lotion for my little one! Can't wait to try out their sunscreen when she is a bit older! http://www.noodleandboo.com

2. Anything Petite Bateau, Feather Baby! and Kicky Pants! I can't get over how soft the Feather Baby stuff is and Petite Bateau makes the best kimono outfits!!

3. Aden and Anais Muslin Wraps! My little one didn't love being completely swaddled...only from the arm pits down, so these blankets were awesome! They come in the cutest prints- plus you can throw them in the stroller, use them as a nursing cover and put them on the ground for your little one to play on! www.adenandanais.com

4. My car seat cover...our gender neutral car seat just didn't cut it once our little princess arrived! She cried on the way home from the hospital and I know it was because she couldn't believe what a boring car seat her mom and dad would put her in...problem solved! Found this at http://www.ritzybaby.com/

5. Probably one of the best products I have ever come across (thank you mom for listening in on a sales woman's conversation with an expectant mom!) my snuggin go! The best infant positioner ever! Presley loves this thing and it keeps her upright and her head steady! What's even better, it was developed by a mom!! http://www.snuggingo.com/Home.html

More to come later...my little angel and I are going to take a walk and get some lunch! XO

Preparing for your little angel cont...

Ahhhh, onto the monitor(s)....we were told by numerous people to make sure we got a digital video monitor. My mother in law got us a great one- Summer Infant Best View Color Handheld Video Monitor- we love it! Another monitor I found that I needed and now can't imagine being without is the Angelcare Deluxe Movement Monitor....OMG, this is the best monitor EVER and gave us total peace of mind! It's gone off a few times, but only because she has rolled off the sensor and boy is that alarm loud!

Preparing for your little angel...

Since Adam and I decided not to find out what we were having our focus was more on what to do to better our future child's life, his or her room and the "gear" we needed. Neither Adam nor I had much experience around children, let alone babies we sort of went into this blind- although some of my mommy friends helped me out a ton (thanks T, Eydie and Jan!).

One of the best things we ever did (thank you mom for the wonderful gift!) was bank Presley's cord blood. It's a pricey investment up front, but well worth it especially with all of the medical advances they are making...you hope you never need to use it, but will be thankful it's there if you ever do. We decided to go with ViaCord (http://www.viacord.com).

Now onto the gear...Of course we "needed" gender neutral items and they had to be aesthetically appealing to the eye....haha, such a rookie (or new parent) move. Everything was cream, chocolate brown and aqua...well, we found out quickly enough that babies can't really see light colors and that those colors don't do anything for them...The brighter the better! So, we returned our pretty, gender neutral gear to Babies R Us and purchased the brightest gear we could find! I think Presley's favorite so far is her Fisher-Price Rainforest Melodies & Lights Deluxe Gym- boy does she love this thing! The best part is that it plays music for 20 min! It's amazing how quickly you figure out what you need and don't need and what you like and don't like!

I really didn't know how weak their little necks were...wow, I was terrified to put anything over her head! I quickly went out and purchased anything that snapped up the front and/or was a kimono style! That made my life soooo much easier!

Ahhh....The "Mommy Brain!"

So, I have never done a blog before, but decided that doing one would be a great way for me to remember things since these days my "mommy brain" is in overdrive!

I always told myself that with my first baby I would "write EVERYTHING down" so I would remember firsts, what I like and don't like and anything the might come in handy to share with expectant friends and for my next child...but of course I have totally slacked at doing just that! I started out writing everything down and then life just seemed to get so hectic (in a good way!) that I told myself "I'll remember to write that down..." and then I forgot...go figure. So, here goes my blog- enjoy!!
